He lay there, his every whim catered to
Knowing all he had to was blink
Or give a frown
For her to come running
And apologising
For her dilly-dallying
On unimportant things
Such as food and sleep;

As she rushed around and allowed herself
To go sleepless and breathless
She wondered aloud
“How did it come to this?”
He said: “Well, You were the one who wanted a kid!”

He gave her a gummy smile, a toothless grin
And every tired bone was forgotten
As she felt herself energised
For the long night ahead.

P.S In case you didn’t notice, there are two “Hes” here. πŸ™‚
