Where there once were thriving civilizations
They forgot to be human;
Over a little city
Called the birth-place of two religions
The mighty warriors fought;
Sometimes there would be fires raging
Through both camps;
Sometimes
They would fence
In diplomatic circles
Each blaming the other
For atrocities committed;
Conveniently forgetting
They had betrayed their own people to this;
Ah Jerusalem!
Where you were once the cradle of seers and prophets
Now you are just a ball of fire
Consuming all with the hatred
They have filled you with.
P.S I know this is my first post in an eternity, but moving to a different country should be a good enough reason…
